Willow sculpture by Patrick Dougherty at Palo Alto Art Center

On our way to and from New Zealand, we stopped in San Francisco to visit my sister, Kathy, and her family in Palo Alto. Kath took us to an art opening at the Palo Alto Art Center which featured the work of Patrick Dougherty, whose willow installation looks a bit like a small village of interconnected huts that you can walk through. Patrick directed a bunch of Palo Alto folks to help assemble this sculpture and we enjoyed meeting him at the opening. I had seen his work in two other east coast locations – at DeCordova Museum and at Brown University.
